Karen Longneck:

The Karen Long Neck tribe, also known as the Padaung, is an ethnic group originating from Myanmar (Burma) and Northern Thailand. The women of this tribe are renowned for wearing brass neck rings, which create the appearance of an elongated neck. This cultural practice begins at a young age, with additional rings being added over time. The neck rings are not actually stretching their necks but rather pushing down their collarbones and compressing the rib cage, creating the illusion of a longer neck. The tradition is said to be a symbol of beauty and cultural identity within the tribe. Visiting the Karen Long Neck tribe offers a unique opportunity to learn about their customs, traditions, and way of life.
