A center of treks into the mountainous northern areas, home of hill tribes, Chiang Mai offer unique opportunities for the adventurous. Lush hill and virgin forests are scenic backdrops that will make your trekking by foot or on an elephant’s back truly memorable. The most popular trails are in Doi Inthanon National Park where over 300 bird species and a wide variety of orchids and other flowers can be seen.
Visiting Doi Inthanon is is possible throughout the year. However the best period for viewing the waterfalls is May through November, that for viewing wild flowers is December through February, and for Ornithologists, November through March
Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak, is a must-visit for tourists in Chiang Mai. It boasts a diverse range of attractions, including the breathtaking Wachiratharn waterfalls and the twin stupas—Phra Mahathat Napaphon Bhumisiri Chedi and Napamaytanidol Chedi—constructed in honor of the King and Queen, respectively.
Mae Klang Luang village is a popular destination that draws numerous tourists, both Thai and foreigners. Situated at Km.26 on the road leading to the summit of Doi Inthanon, Mae Klang Luang village is actively promoted as an eco-tourism hotspot. This village is inhabited by the Pakakayor or Karen ethnic group, hill people who migrated from Burma several centuries ago. Visitors can explore attractions such as the Pha Dok Siew waterfall (also known as the hidden waterfall) and the surrounding rainforest. The weather from November to February tends to be quite cold, adding to the allure of the area.
Enjoy trekking through pristine forest in Doi Intanon National Park; see how the Karen people live in harmony with nature and start the day with a cup of hot, fresh, Hill tribe coffee. Trekking at Baan Mae Klang Luang village you might find it interesting to follow the path to Pha Dok Siew Waterfalls. The trek starts at Km. 30 on the road and requires walking some way down to the falls. Altogether there are ten different cascades and the 7th is the most beautiful.

Itinerary:
- Pick up from your hotel in the city center at 07.30 am.
- We will drive about 2 hours to Doi Innthanon National Park and visit the highest mountain of Thailand 2,565 meters above the sea level
- Visit King & Queen pagoda
- Visit Hmong Market
- Enjoy a Thai lunch.
- The Pha Dok Siew Nature Trail includes about 2 hours of trekking through the forest and rice fields (which depend on the season). You will also visit Baan Mae Klang Luang, where the Karen village (not the Karen longneck tribe) community makes their own coffee.
- Visit Wachiratharn Waterfall
- Return to your hotel in Chiang Mai about 17.30 pm.
